Giuliettas.com has an interesting writeup about the car.
The Giulietta, coupe or spider, can be considered a pinnacle of post war Italian design.
The Sprint (coupe) was penned by Franco Scalione for Bertone while the convertible was
done by Pinnifarina.
It is often argued which is more beautiful; the coupe or the converitble, with both sides of the
argument having very valid points.
The Sprint was introduced at the 1954 Turin auto show and saw production
until 1963. A sedan (berlina) and convertible followed the Sprint introduction.
Over 172,000 Giuliettas including the special models such as the Sprint Speciale were sold
making this car Alfa's first mass market car.

This 1957 Sprint Veloce Lightweight (Allegerita) is one of 100 produced. The car was ordered by
the Prince of Sweden hence the Royal Swedish Blue.

This car which has only 32K kilometer and has had one respray to the original colour is for sale.

The engine is the classic double overhead cam all aluminum engine designed by
Orazio Satta Puglia.
This a small displacement engine of only 1300cc putting out a 130hp at 7300rpm versus the
79hp of the of the regular Sprint. This increased power plus weight saving measures
(doors, hood and trunk are aluminum) made these cars very competitive in races such as
Millie Miglia, Coupe Des Alps and the Targa Florio.
Other features unique to the Lightweights are the sliding windows since the winding crank
for the windows were removed to save weight.
